9th February 2012: MeteoGroup has launched a brand new Premium service for WeatherPro – the UK’s best selling weather app on Android.   Plan ahead with WeatherPro Premium and get the very latest forecasts when last minute timing is crucial.  WeatherPro Premium is available in-app on WeatherPro for Android 2.0 and includes a host of extended features and additional information.

Already an incredibly detailed and comprehensive app, WeatherPro for Android now offers users even more weather data via its Premium service.  By subscribing to WeatherPro Premium, users have access to two week forecasts in hourly intervals for most cities worldwide – an upgrade from the seven-day, three-hourly forecasts on the standard app.

A unique feature on WeatherPro Premium is the “precipitation-type” and forecast radar.  Precipitation-type radar identifies the intensity and the type of precipitation, differentiating between snow, rain, hail and freezing rain.  In addition to seeing the observed radar images, which are also available on the standard app, Premium users can look ahead on the forecast radar; an essential feature for short-term planning.

Holidays are a popular time for checking the weather and WeatherPro Premium includes a wealth of extra information for holiday-makers.  Snow depth, the number of pistes that are open and the number of lifts running are amongst the information on the Ski Weather feature, whilst Beach Weather includes the UV Index and water temperatures for the Mediterranean, Caribbean and other popular holiday destinations.

WeatherPro for Android 2.0 is available for download from the Android Market now.  WeatherPro Premium is available as an in-app purchase and subscriptions are 3-monthly or annual.
