TRAINEE WEATHER FORECASTER REQUIRED BY METEOGROUP UK
Are you seeking an exciting and rewarding career in meteorology? MeteoGroup UK has an opportunity for a graduate meteorologist, with the relevant qualifications, to join its highly skilled forecasting team.
MeteoGroup, a PA Group company, is Europe’s largest independent weather business with a worldwide customer base and operations in eight European countries and the USA. MeteoGroup UK provides a wide range of products and services to weather critical and weather sensitive markets and is recognised for the quality and reliability of its forecasts.
Candidates must hold either a degree or post-graduate degree in meteorology.
A good knowledge of European and UK geography is essential and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. The ability to analyse synoptic charts and interpret forecast charts would be a distinct advantage, as would familiarity of the climate of the British Isles.
MeteoGroup is the only private sector weather business in the UK to be qualified as an NVQ Assessment Centre for Weather Forecasting and trainees will benefit from intensive in-house training and support.
A willingness to work shifts, including weekends and nights, are essential for all applicants.
The successful candidate can expect an attractive remuneration package together with a generous benefits package and 25 days holiday per annum.
