MeteoGroup wins Network Rail contract
MeteoGroup has been awarded a significant long term contract with Network Rail to handle all their UK weather forecasting requirements.
MeteoGroup provides Network Rail with up to the minute forecasts and a 24/7 telephone advisory service, as well as additional seasonal services, helping them keep the trains moving in all weathers.
MeteoGroup has also developed a bespoke website which presents weather information to complement the operational considerations of Network Rail. This website will become the central weather resource within Network Rail and will evolve through the contract term, enabling MeteoGroup to drive ongoing innovation and development.
Network Rail owns and operates the UK’s rail infrastructure, making weather data critical to their decision-making throughout the year. They require market leading accuracy and total reliability, and the decision to award MeteoGroup this contract follows a long period of comprehensive evaluation; ensuring they have full confidence in the accuracy of our forecasting, and the reliability of our services.
