Following the successful collaboration with VXRacing over the past few seasons of the British Touring Car Championship, and the subsequent withdrawal of Vauxhall from the championships, MeteoGroup has now joined forces with Team Aon to provide weather forecasts to the team.
Team Aon was formed in 2009 through a commercial partnership between Aon and Arena International Motorsport. They will be racing a pair of Ford Focus STs powered by liquefied petroleum gas in the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring car Championship, with drivers Tom Chilton and Tom Onslow-Cole.
MeteoGroup will provide the team with essential technical weather support to assist in the setting up of the race cars and race day tactics. High resolution five minute rainfall radar for each of the race venues will allow Team Aon to make race strategy decisions and the detailed 24 hour forecast will help them maximise the race set up of the car. With many of the BTCC race weekends weather affected, accurate site specific forecasts for each track provided by MeteoGroup will be an essential ingredient in the quest to bring Team Aon to the podium.
