Today (Thursday): Northern parts of Scotland will be rather cloudy with mainly light rain and drizzle spreading south. Early cloud across southern parts of England will clear away to leave it dry and mostly sunny, especially throughout the course of the afternoon. There will be spells of sunshine elsewhere, but turning cloudier in the north later in the day.
Tonight (Thursday night): There will be a few scattered showers across Scotland, light in nature and turning wintry over high ground. Rather cloudy at times across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England. Elsewhere will be largely dry with clear spells. After midnight showers will die out over Scotland and there will be some light drizzle in East Anglia. Elsewhere, mostly dry but clouding over towards the early hours across Wales.
UK Outlook (Friday and Saturday): Friday, rather cloudy with patchy rain or showers, mainly across E Anglia and other easternmost coastal counties of the UK. The showers are likely to turn wintry in nature over high ground in Scotland. A few showers in south-west England. Elsewhere will see bright and sunny spells. The best of the sun will be for southern Scotland and northern England throughout the morning. On Saturday it will be mostly dry and bright across the UK, however a few showers are expected in north-west Scotland, mostly light in nature.
